Newly crowned Russian champions Rubin Kazan...
The Tatarstan side clinched their second successive title with a 0-0 draw at home to Zenit St. Petersburg on Saturday, and could make the knockout stages of the Champions League with a match to spare if they beat Dynamo and Barcelona lose at home to Inter Milan.
Rubin"s European campaign got off to a shaky start with a 3-1 defeat in the Ukrainian capital on September 16 before a draw with Inter Milan in Kazan and a stunning victory over Barcelona at the Nou Camp. With the return game ending 0-0, Rubin are now second in Group F, one point behind leaders Inter.
Rubin"s final game is in Milan, where they will need just a point to progress if they beat Dynamo.
"We clearly lacked experience in the opening game," Rubin forward Alejandro Dominguez told the Sport Dyen za Dnyem website. "But in the subsequent matches we tried to prove that we are also a big team and can challenge for the top places in the group of death."
