Before the trip to Brazil, President Dmitry Medvedev is to take part in the nuclear security summit in Washington on April 12-13 and also pay an official visit to Argentina on April 14-15.
The Washington summit, bringing together more than 40 heads of state, will focus mainly on the vulnerability of nuclear materials and securing them against the threat of terrorist acquisition.
In Argentina, Medvedev will meet with the country"s president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner to discuss the development of bilateral relations in the sphere of energy and high-technology.
In Brazil, the president will take part in the BRIC summit along with Brazilian President Lula da Silva, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Chinese President Hu Jintao.
The meeting of BRIC leaders (Brazil, Russia, India and China) in Brasilia will focus on improving the current global economic situation and strengthening cooperation.
