"Roman wants to leave London and he wants to go to Roma. If Tottenham allow him to go, Roman could be a Roma player," Oliver Wendt told Romagiallorossa.com.

The Russian signed for Tottenham from Spartak for $28 million in August 2008. He scored five goals in 30 Premier League matches in his debut season, hitting another eight in cup competitions, including six as Spurs reached the final of the Carling Cup.

But with the arrival of Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane to the club, the 27-year-old has lost his place in the first side and has only played one full game for the team since the start of the season - a Carling Cup tier against Doncaster Rovers.

Liverpool, Spartak Moscow and Zenit have also been linked with the unsettled striker.
