Isa"s brother Ruslan, a member of Russia"s State Duma (lower house of parliament), was gunned down in Moscow in September 2008, while Sulim, the former commander of Russia"s Vostok battalion in Chechnya, was allegedly shot in the underground carpark of his apartment in late March in the United Arab Emirates.
"An attempt on my life was made," Isa Yamadayev, who along with relatives still maintains that Sulim survived the shooting and is recovering in hospital, said in a radio interview with Ekho Moskvy.
Yamadayev also said that Russian law enforcement authorities had detained a suspect however, this has yet to be confirmed by Russian authorities.
Yamadayev declined to answer a question on whether he had been injured in the attempted attack, saying only that he felt "fine."
"This is another link in the chain: an attempt on my brother Sulim"s life and the murder of my older brother Ruslan," Isa said, but refused to say anymore, citing the ongoing investigation.
