"It is well known that today a terrible crime against civilians in its effects and disgusting in its character was carried out," the prime minister said. "Dozens of people died in the subway."

The prime minister signed an order to allocate compensation of 318,000 rubles ($10,729) to each family of those who died in the blasts, a compensation of 100,000 rubles ($3,374) to each family of those who were severely injured and 50,000 rubles ($1,687) to each family of an injured member.
Putin proposed the Russian Transport Ministry provide a plan on how to tighten security on transportation.
