May will promote Russian-Chinese cooperation in R&D. Nikolai Mikhailov, advisor of the chairman of AFK Sistema’s Board of Directors, expressed this opinion in the Russian Information Center RIA Novosti set up in Beijing.“Participants in the conference came to the conclusion that Russian-Chinese relations in science is clealrly below the high level of bilateral political relations,” Mikhailov said, adding that this is no good but not desperate.
“The forthcoming international exhibition EXPO-2010 will be an opportunity to revise our policy and pool our R&D potential,” Mikhailov concluded.
Prof. Ivan Ivanov, a researcher from the Higher School of Economics, who also took part in the conference, said that its participants discussed bilateral cooperation on developing unconventional energy sources and countering climate change.
