Korea"s Kim Yu-na won the gold medal in figure-skating on Thursday at the Vancouver Winter Olympics with a record score.

Yu-na"s total score was 228.56 points.

Japan"s Mao Asada took the silver, scoring 205.5 points. Canada"s Joannie Rochette grabbed the bronze with 202.64.

Russians Alena Leonova and Ksenia Makarova took the ninth and tenth places with 172.46 and 171.91 points respectively.
